Liang Chen Wins Paper of the Year Award

Dr. Liang Chen's peer-reviewed publication "Impacts of Urbanization on Future Climate in China," in press with the journal Climate Dynamics, has been awarded the John Russell Mather Paper of the Year award from the Climate Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers.

The award recognizes papers that represent a significant contribution to climate science, or papers utilizing innovative research approaches, analyses, and/or techniques. Dr. Chen, a CSL alumnus who graduated from Texas A&M University with a Ph.D. in Geography (specializing in climate science) in August of 2015, will receive a commemorative plaque and a letter of citation, in addition to a cash award, and will be recognized at the AAG awards luncheon. He will present his award-winning research at an invited plenary talk at 4:40 p.m. on March 29 in the Continental 1 ballroom of the Hilton San Francisco Union Square hotel in San Francisco, CA.
